Make Me A Channel Of Your Peace – My Visit To Assissi

Going to Assisi

Going to Assisi has always been on my bucket list. I am named after my grandmother Francina but also share the name and birthday of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.  Not to mention my love of animals, my desire to hold a peaceful place in the world and my love of the song “Make Me A Channel of Your Peace” which I sang at many funerals and church services as part of the church choir.  Being in Assisi was magical.  In fact, I saw it up on the hill and tears welled up and spilled out.  It felt like home.  We walked the pink stone streets, immersed ourselves into all things Francis, however, being at the crypt was truly a special place.  This picture was taken there.

Singing

I had my guitar and sang Make Me A Channel of Your Peace (St. Francis Prayer) in Assisi in front of a beautiful frescoe.  It is a simple recording and was an impromptu thing.  Since my return, I have been letting Assisi settle and the more I thought of my trip, the more I read the news, the more I feel the need to spread some positivity into the world.  I know so many people who do good things for others without asking for anything in return.  These people are channels for bringing peace to others.  I thought it was a good fit to pair these good deeds done by my friends with the St. Francis Prayer.
