Rockets In My Boots, Vol. I

Hello It's Nice To Meet You

We may not know each other's names

We may look different,

But we're all the same

If you look inside your heart

You know how to start, with

Hello, it’s nice to meet you

Hello, let's have some fun

Hello, we’re gonna have a party

before we start the show

Hello Hello

I want to share my story with you

I hope that this will help you too

Through our ups and downs

Life keeps spinning round

Hello, it’s nice to meet you

Hello, let's have some fun

Hello, we’re gonna have a party

before we start the show

Hello Hello

Now turn to the person that

Came with you tonight

And say hey thanks for being here

Now turn to someone

You don't know yet

Give them a smile and say

Hello, Hello

Hello, it’s nice to meet you

Hello, let's have some fun

Hello, we’re gonna have a party

before we start the show

Hello, Hello

Hello, it’s nice to meet you

Hello, let's have some fun

Hello, we’re gonna have a party

before we start the show

Hello Hello

Now turn to the person that came

With you tonight

And say hey thanks for being here

Now turn to someone you don't

know yet

Give them a smile and say

Hello, Hello

Hello, it’s nice to meet you

Hello, let's have some fun

Hello, we’re gonna have a party

before we start the show

Hello Hello

Hello, Hello

Cadillac (Extended)

My Daddy told me, he said girl

If you want to live fast...

Do it in a Cadillac

I'm bold, I'm brave

I'm a little bit insane

I can do anything when the

Prize is worth the pain

I break the mold, take control

Baby, that's how I roll

Burning down the track in my Cadillac,

In my Cadillac, in my Cadillac

Burning down the track in my Cadillac

A pinch of sass, all class

Set my own path,

Don't look back in my Cadillac

I'm sleek, I'm sweet

I'm tongue in cheek

I'm strong enough to

Embrace my feminine mystique

These curves and swerves

Have got the nerve to

Chase what they deserve

Burning down the track in my

Cadillac,

In my Cadillac, in my Cadillac

Burning down the track in my

Cadillac

A pinch of sass, all class

Set my own path,

Don't look back in my Cadillac

My daddy told me

He said life's like that car

It's gonna fly by girl

So hit the gas

Then enjoy the ride

Burning down the track in my

Cadillac,

In my Cadillac, in my Cadillac

Burning down the track in my

Cadillac

A pinch of sass, all class

Set my own path,

Don't look back in my Cadillac

Racing In His Blood

He's got high-test in his veins

It helps that he’s insane

When it’s time to start goin’ ‘round

The smell of oil and gas

As he goes flying past

Nobody’s gonna slow him down

He's got racin' in his blood

Something you can’t learn in school

The first time he fell in love

Was just something that he had to do

A little wild, a little rough,

Whole lotta fast and furious

‘Cause he’s got racin’,

Racin’ in his blood

There’s a lot you must give up

To get you to the top

Cause a checkered flag

Haunts your dreams

There’s nothing quite the same

As when they call your name

Wait a week and get to do it again

He's got racin' in his blood

Something you can’t learn in school

The first time he fell in love

Was just something that he had to do

A little wild, a little rough,

Whole lotta fast and furious

‘Cause he’s got racin’,

Racin’ in his blood

He was born for speed,

Everyone agrees

A racer’s life ain’t bad

A family affair, we all were there

We all cheered on my Dad

He's got racin' in his blood

Something you can’t learn in school

The first time he fell in love

Was just something that he had to do

A little wild, a little rough,

Whole lotta fast and furious

‘Cause he’s got racin’,

Racin’ in his blood

Come Sit In My Chair

My father had a dream,

Before I was born,

To live life outside of the norm

So he took a wife,

Learned a new trade

As a barber, away from the farm.

Crossed the bridge to Tweed,

Back in ’64, a family in a new home

He opened a salon,

Across the street from Ron’s,

With his scissors, a clipper and comb

He said come sit in my chair,

And I’ll cut your hair and

Make you look grand

He said come sit in my chair,

And tell me your cares and

I’ll understand, I’ll understand

He cut Joe’s hair the day he was wed,

Then he styled Joe’s wife

When Joe’s kids were born,

He cut their hair too,

Always a part of their life

The hair fell down, and

He danced around the chair

As he crafted a style

The swish of the scissors,

The Buzz of the clippers,

‘fore you knew it, a brand new profile

He said come sit in my chair,

And I’ll cut your hair and

Make you look grand

He said come sit in my chair,

And tell me your cares and

I’ll understand, I’ll understand

The Judo League, Kinsmen club, and

The Tweed Speedway

Racing skidoos across the lake,

All for Tweed

He said come sit in my chair,

And I’ll cut your hair and

Make you look grand

He said come sit in my chair,

And tell me your cares and

I’ll understand, I’ll understand

He’s the Barber in town,

That French man’s just around and

He knows everyone’s name

Momma

When I was little,

Mom taught me to sew,

Put love in each stitch

When making our clothes

When I'd get home from school,

I'd sew up all her sheets

She never got mad at me.

She laughed in disbelief

As I spun around, in my new dress,

Said I was beautiful,

You know she is the best

Momma,

You made us who we are today,

Momma taught us about life

I thank you for devoting your life to us

She loves to dance,

With the man of her dreams,

He spins her around, she feels so free

She's full of love,

It shines from her eyes,

Her voice is from heaven,

Her touch is divine

Momma,

You made us who we are today,

Momma taught us about life

I thank you for devoting your life to us

A career in the government,

The horses she would ride,

Gave them up to raise her family,

new dreams filled her eyes.

The lessons she taught me,

I'm living today,

Just be yourself, be kind in all ways

Follow the rules, don't be afraid,

To love somebody,

Give thanks for each day

Help those you can,

Work really hard,

Remember your family,

Is the real reward

Momma,

You made us who we are today,

Momma taught us about life

I thank you for

Devoting your life to us

We thank you for

Devoting your life to us

haw, Chez mon oncle Lucien

haw, Chez mon oncle Lucien

À la cabane, On s’en va,

Chez mon oncle Lucien

Finalement, c’est le temps de la tire

Mon oncle me donne mon bâtonnet

Il verse du sirop sur la neige

La tire elle colle, c’est parfait

Une autre fois, s’il vous plait

Mmm num num, num, la tire est

bonne, Chez mon oncle Lucien

Mmmm, num num, num, on a du

fun, Chez mon oncle Lucien

À la maison, avec les becs collés

Memère dit

« Ben non, Ben non Ben non »

Ça ne fait rien, elle sert nos assiettes

On s’installe tous en rond

Elle sort son violon

Trinquons, buvons, le whisky est

bon, Chez mon oncle Lucien

Les chansons, le violon,

Chez mon oncle Lucien

Just Passing By

There is snow

Passing my windowsill,

as I sit and watch the flakes drift by

There are people are

Passing in the winter chill,

as I sit and watch them

Wave good-bye

I sat and watched, my life go by, and

I did not stop to live

So now I'm dead, all alone,

I've got nothing more to give

All my life

People haven't noticed me,

I did not realize

You can't be shy,

And not look up,

you must stand

And look them in the eye

I sat and watched, my life go by, and

I did not stop to live

So now I'm dead, all alone,

I've got nothing more to give

Now I'm old, I think of how my life has been,

Wondering if someone really cares

All my life, I have not loved,

Have not felt,

Someone please

Love me if you dare

I sat and watched, my life go by, and

I did not stop to live

So now I'm dead, all alone,

I've got nothing more to give

I sat and watched my life go by

And I did not stop to live

Rockets In My Boots

When I studied mathematics,

They tried to tell me

Because I was a girl,

I couldn't be Intelligent, a scientist,

Or earn a degree

What they didn't see, were the

Rockets in my boots, Let me loose

High test in my veins,

Fuelling my brain

I got Rockets, Rockets in my boots

Soon I solved all the equations,

Proved theories

Learned about robotics,

Built machines

Artificial intelligence,

Was the specialty

Written on my degree. I've got

Rockets in my boots, Let me loose

High test in my veins,

Fuelling my brain

I got rockets, Rockets in my boots

As a woman inside

The boy's club walls

I focused on the problems that

Couldn't be solved

Was logical, technical,

No feelings involved

Soon I would lead them all, with the

Rockets in my boots, Let me loose

High test in my veins,

Fuelling my brain

I got Rockets, Rockets in my boots

Crossed The Line

Laying next to you

The sun coming through the window

Up with the morning light

Wipe the sleep from my eyes,

I see you

Yesterday we were friends

And then you took my hand, we

Crossed the line we can’t uncross

I see your eyes and I am lost

I’m craving for you

We crossed the line we can’t uncross

Can’t go back to how it was

I’m dying for you

We crossed the line,

We crossed the line

You pick me up when I’m down

You’ve always been around, to listen

Now that you’re here by my side

I finally realize you’re what’s missing

I’m not afraid of losing

What we had anymore

This time I’ll take your hand, and

Crossed the line we can’t uncross

I see your eyes and I am lost

I’m craving for you

We crossed the line we can’t uncross

Can’t go back to how it was

I’m dying for you

We crossed the line,

We crossed the line

I don't know why this took us so long

There's no way this

can be wrong, let's

Cross the line we can’t uncross

I see your eyes and I am lost

I’m craving for you

Let’s cross the line we can’t uncross

Can’t go back to how it was

I’m dying for you

We crossed the line,

We crossed the line

Hunker Down

The honeymoon is over,

But honey, in my mind

We keep romance alive,

when we take the time

You’re still the same good man,

that swept me off my feet

And oh how I remember,

how well you sweep

Let’s hunker down,

I’m not foolin’ ’round

If we gotta be stuck at home,

glad I’m stuck on you

This crazy world, still goes around

There’s a raging storm outside,

it’s gonna be a wild ride

So Baby let’s hunker down

There’s a whole lot more to life,

Than what we have to do

Between the bills, kids and work,

Not much time for me and you

Those things are all important,

but baby, we are too

So before this path becomes a rut,

here’s what I wanna do

Let’s hunker down,

I’m not foolin’ ’round

If we gotta be stuck at home,

Glad I’m stuck on you

This crazy world, still goes around

There’s a raging storm outside,

It’s gonna be a wild ride

So Baby let’s hunker down

It’s not rocket science,

What I’m thinking we should do

Let’s put the world on hold and

Hide-out a day or two

Let’s hunker down,

I’m not foolin’ ’round

If we gotta be stuck at home,

Glad I’m stuck on you

This crazy world, still goes around

There’s a raging storm outside,

It’s gonna be a wild ride

So Baby let’s hunker down

Let’s hunker down

Can't Break Through To You

The curtains are always open,

In our shower stall

You're in there trying to

Wash the war away

The water’s running cold,

And your skin’s rubbed raw

I wish you could erase,

All the things you saw

I can’t break through to you,

No matter how I try

I can't get to you, even when I cry

Tears are falling, on a heart of stone

I can’t break through to you,

When you comin’ home

You must be in the trenches

Again tonight

You've pulled your pillow

Down under your arm

Sleeping with your rifle

Ready for a fight

You push me away

when I try to hold you tight

I can’t break through to you,

No matter how I try

I can't get to you, even when I cry

Tears are falling, on a heart of stone

I can’t break through to you,

When you comin’ home

I'll be here,

“In sickness and in health”

Don't know how to help you,

But I'm here with you in Hell

So I hold your hand and

Pray we find our way, ‘cause

I can’t break through to you,

No matter how I try

I can't get to you, even when I cry

Tears are falling, on a heart of stone

I can’t break through to you,

When you comin’ home

How do I break through?

I want you home.

Re-Drawn

I sat in the hallway,

But I was lost in space,

as the lines defining me were erased.

Could not move, could not speak,

Feeling all alone,

Watching my two children in their sleep

They didn't know that

their world changed today

They didn't know

it would never be the same

And God only knows

how the lines get re-drawn

I don't know where it came from, but I

saw the me I used to be,

Full of courage, strength and dignity

The meaning of my life was clear,

My destiny was known.

I knew I had all it took for

A strong and loving home

They didn't know that

their world changed today

They didn't know

it would never be the same

And God only knows

how the lines get re-drawn

I've gone from married life

to a single Mom

From double income,

Now I'm working poor

No more invitations

to couples dinners,

I'll be eating in

Taking sides,

Half my friends won't see me

anymore

They didn't know that

my world changed today

They didn't know

I would never be the same

God knows where

I'll find the strength to carry on

God only knows

how the lines get re-drawn

Red Sky

Falling through the red sky,

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Falling through the red sky,

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Fly through the red sky

Don't know where I'm landing

Or when I will arrive

Been blown around in the wind,

I know I will survive

Falling through the red sky,

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Falling through the red sky,

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Fly through the red sky

I see the rocks they left me,

In the shape of a heart

I'm always flying towards them,

No matter how far we're apart

Falling through the red sky,

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Falling through the red sky,

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Fly through the red sky

Voices squealing “Catch me Momma”

Hear them howling with the wind

Always caught them

but they didn't know

They were saving me instead

From falling through the red sky,

Couldn't spread my arms to fly

Now I’m soaring through the red

sky, Their love taught me fly

Fly through the red sky

Fly through the red sky

Fly through the red sky

Believe In Me

I remember the day,

you told me to stop singing

Still hear your words,

“Not good enough”

I believed in you,

more than I believed in me

I believed in you,

when I should have believed in me

I fought against your voices,

trying to silence me

Hungry ghosts of doubt and disbelief

I believed in you,

more than I believed in me

I believed in you,

when I should have believed in me

I remember the day,

I started singing

Perfect, as I was

I remember the day, I started living

Finally realized,

I was more than good enough, yet

I believed in you,

more than I believed in me

I believed in you,

when I should have believed in me

I remember the day,

I started singing

I believe that you

never believed in me!

I remember the day I started singing

Better Think Again

I’m not the dirty laundry

You’ve got lying on your floor

Pick me up whenever you don’t know

What you’re looking for

I’m worth more than all the gold

You’ve got sitting in the bank

I can see your

cheatin heart from here

And I ain’t even Hank

I’ve been around

Paid my dues

Ain’t the first

to see the likes of you

I’ve had to take the trash out

now and then

The Queen Bee can still sting

When it’s necessary

No I’m not just

here for the temporary

You think you’re fooling me

You better think again

I know what you’re doing

When you go out with the guys

It’s the buffet then the ballet

Both serving breasts and thighs

Its a hot mess I guess

It’s no surprise I found

If you hang out at the circus

all you meet are clowns

I’ve been around

Paid my dues

Ain’t the first

to see the likes of you

I’ve had to take the trash out

now and then

The Queen Bee can still sting

When it’s necessary

No I’m not just here for the temporary

You think you’re fooling me

You better think again

I’m not singing the blues

Just speaking the truth

Think you’re gonna use me

I got some news for you…

I’ve been around

Paid my dues

Ain’t the first

to see the likes of you

I’ve had to take the trash out

now and then

The Queen Bee can still sting

When it’s necessary

No I’m not just here for the temporary

I know how the story ends

The Queen Bee can still sting

When it’s necessary

No I’m not just here for the temporary

You think you’re fooling me

You better think again

I Carry On

2020 Vision

I signed the paper with the year 2020,

in the box, marked date to retire

That was 30 years ago, and I didn’t believe

I’d be free at 55

Couldn’t see the future the path wasn’t clear

I climbed that corporate ladder, focused on my career

Working for that day to be here

2020 Vision

I had a 2020 Vision

I could see it, feel it

This 20/20 Vision of mine

Thought getting older, would have taken much longer

With all those twists, and turns in the road

But the photos full of smiles are memories of the miles

Of the places I didn’t know I would go

Every setback was a lesson, Some I didn’t want to learn

There was crazy busy fun, but some bridges got burned

Looking back I know, I needed every twist and turn

2020 Vision

I have 2020 Vision

I can see it, feel it

This 20/20 Vision of mine

Is it really too good to be true?

Can my workin’ days really be through?

Get out of this race, do what I want to do?

I’ll make music and play like a child

Spend time with my kids, read those books in the pile

And visit with ALL of my friends I haven’t seen in a while

That’s my

2020 Vision

2020 Vision

I can see it, feel it

2020 Vision

This 20/20 Vision of mine.

I signed the paper with the year 2020

Red Sky

Falling through the red sky

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Falling through the red sky

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Fly through the red sky

Don’t know where I’m landing

Falling through the red sky

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Falling through the red sky

Gonna spread my arms and fly

Fly through the red sky

Don’t know where I’m landing

Or when I will arrive

Been blowin’ around in the wind

I know I will survive

I see the rocks they left me,

Can't Press Reset

.2020 started out fine, Had a clear vision in my mind

Was gonna get things done, travel to France

Spend time with my friends, I had all kinds of plans

Then 2020, went down the tubes

Stuck at home watching the news

Cause we’re in lockdown, everyone’s in masks

There’s fires in the streets and the world’s gone mad

We can’t just press reset

When the world doesn’t make sense

We need more love and respect

Cause we’re fighting a disease

Where people cannot breathe

We can’t just press reset. NO!

There’s no reset

I’m the one, always looking for rainbows

But things seem so out of control

It’s a full time job, changing my thoughts

When I see the faces, of those we’ve lost

We can’t just press reset

When the world doesn’t make sense

We need more love and respect

Cause we’re fighting a disease

Where people cannot breathe

We can’t just press reset. NO!

There’s no reset

The world is a fragile place

and we have big problems to solve

I believe that we can

if we work together as ONE human race!

We can’t just press reset

When the world doesn’t make sense

We need more love and respect

Cause we’re fighting a disease

Where people cannot breathe

We can’t just press reset. NO!

There’s no reset

We need to ask!

What comes next?

Falling Through

Medication, Depression,

Weekly Therapy Sessions

Distant, Anchored in your darkness,

Cancelled reservations,

Can’t leave our apartment, you’re

Falling Through, Falling Through

Falling Through

The spaces between me and you

Little pieces, break away

Losing myself, every day

I’m bruised from fighting your fight

My light’s still shining

Yet not as bright, Cause’ I’m

Falling Through, Falling Through

Falling Through

The spaces between me and you

We are tumbling in a spiral,

Twirling in a grieving wind

Please grab my hand,

Let’s try to safely land

Falling Through, Falling Through

Falling Through

The spaces between me and you

Falling

Hold On

Sing me a sad song over and over

Tell me it’s alright to cry

My heart is broken in a hundred pieces

Can’t stop the tears inside

I’m wandering in a desert

Dragging my feet through the sand

How did I reach this place?

Is this life, in my own hands? So I’ll

Hold On

‘Cause I am made of stardust

My soul can reach beyond the stars

The deeper the valley

The higher the mountain

No distance is too far

When you hold on to hope

Sing me a sad song, over and over

That tells me I’ll be alright

Opens my heart to look inside

Calms my chattered mind

I want to hear that small voice whisper

To my forgotten soul

They say it’s never too late to start again

What breaks your heart will make you whole

Hold on

‘Cause I am made of stardust

My soul can reach beyond the stars

The deeper the valley

The higher the mountain

No distance is too far

I’ll walk in the dark

So I can see the stars

Shine starlight through my heart

And hold on to hope

Hold on

Hold on, Hold On

Hold on to hope

Let The Wind

I fall to my knees for forgiveness

On the rock of the canyon’s edge

Wind blowin’ in my hair

Endless cliffs all shades of red

And the rain it starts falling

Pouring from my eyes

Let the wind, let the wind set me free

Let the wind, let the wind set me free

Cause I am stuck, I am stuck inside of me

Release me

Searching through the edges of my mind

Wondering why it’s always my fault

Feel guilty for all that I’ve done

And all the pain I could not stop

And the rain it starts falling

Pouring from my eyes

Let the wind, let the wind set me free

Let the wind, let the wind set me free

Cause I am stuck, I am stuck inside of me

Release me

Confession

(forgive me father for I have sinned)

Absolution

(in the name of the father and the son)

And the Sign of the Cross

(and the Holy Spirit, Hail Mary)

You’ve given me your forgiveness, but I can’t give it to myself

I’m down here on my knees, begging

Let the wind, let the wind set me free

Let the wind, let the wind set me free

Cause I am stuck, I am stuck inside of me

Release me

Set me free

I'm Coming Home

I can see a long, cold winter

I can see a long, cold spring

My breath is frozen on the window

I’m coming home, I’m coming home.

The trees, they do shiver

At the whisper of the wind

And the coyotes howlin’

Goodbye my friend, goodbye my friend.

I can see a long, cold winter

I can see a long, cold spring

My breath is frozen on the window

I’m coming home, I’m coming home.

I can see a long, cold winter

I can see a long, cold spring

My breath if frozen on the window

I’m coming home, I’m coming home.

I’m coming home, I’m coming home.

I Carry on

Your light shines on me

Your love strengthens me

Your peace carries me

You’re in my heart helping me carry on

I carry on

Your light gives me peace

Your love washes everything

When I’m lost and all alone

Your love, makes me sing I’ll carry on

And I know, you’re here with me

And I know, you hear my every need

And I know, you give me strength, helping me to carry on

I carry on

Thank you for loving me

Thank you for holding me

I follow your every lead,

your love, your light

And I know, you’re here with me

And I know…

And I know, you’re here with me

And I know, you hear my every need

And I know, you give me strength, helping me to carry on

I carry on I carry on.

Let’s put the world on hold and hide-out a day or two

Let’s hunker down, I’m not foolin’ ’round

If we gotta be stuck at home, glad I’m stuck on you

This crazy world, still goes around

There’s a raging storm outside, it’s gonna be a wild ride

So Baby let’s hunker down

Let’s hunker down

One Big Party

It’s been such a long time

Since I’ve seen those old friends of mine

Put an ‘X’ on the wall

Countdown is on

No one’s gettin’ left behind

It’s gonna be

One big party

Hometown. Stompin’ ground

Back together, Tight as ever

One big party

Round the fire, Getting higher

Howlin’ at the moon

It’s gonna be

One big miss ya’all, let’s have a ball down home party

Don’t it make you feel good

When your friends are blowin’ up your phone

Say they can’t wait to see ya

Makes you glad to be ya

I’m so ready to go

It’s gonna be

One big party

Hometown. Stompin’ ground

Back together, Tight as ever

One big party

Round the fire, Getting higher

Howlin’ at the moon

It’s gonna be

One big miss ya’all, let’s have a ball down home party

Raising cups to catchin’ up

With my true blue we-go-way-back crew

It’s gonna be

One big party

Hometown. Stompin’ ground

Back together, Tight as ever

One big party

Round the fire, Getting higher

Howlin’ at the moon

It’s gonna be

One big miss ya’all, let’s have a ball down home party

One big miss you all, let’s have a ball, full blown down home party

One big miss you all, let’s have a ball, down home party

Can't Press Reset (Extended)

2020 started out fine, Had a clear vision in my mind

Was gonna get things done, travel to France

Spend time with my friends, I had all kinds of plans

Then 2020, went down the tubes

Stuck at home watching the news

Cause we're in lockdown, everyone's in masks

There's fires in the streets and the world's gone mad

We can't just press reset

When the world doesn't make sense

We need more love and respect

Cause we're fighting a disease

Where people cannot breathe

We can't just press reset. NO!

There's no reset

I'm the one, always looking for rainbows

But things seem so out of control

It's a full time job, changing my thoughts

When I see the faces, of those we've lost

We can't just press reset

When the world doesn't make sense

We need more love and respect

Cause we're fighting a disease

Where people cannot breathe

We can't just press reset. NO!

There's no reset

The world is a fragile place

and we have big problems to solve

I believe that we can

if we work together as ONE human race!

We can't just press reset

When the world doesn't make sense

We need more love and respect

Cause we're fighting a disease

Where people cannot breathe

We can't just press reset. NO!

There's no reset

We need to ask!

What comes next?

I Carry On (Feat. Robert Gray)

Your light shines on me

Your love strengthens me

Your peace carries me

You’re in my heart helping me carry on

I carry on

Your light gives me peace

Your love washes everything

When I’m lost and all alone

Your love, makes me sing I’ll carry on

And I know, you’re here with me

And I know, you hear my every need

And I know, you give me strength, helping me to carry on

I carry on

Thank you for loving me

Thank you for holding me

I follow your every lead,

your love, your light

And I know, you’re here with me

And I know…

And I know, you’re here with me

And I know, you hear my every need

And I know, you give me strength, helping me to carry on

I carry on I carry on.

Take Me To The North Pole

Take Me To The North Pole

Take me to the North Pole

I need to fly away

This world's gone crazy

Santa take me in your sleigh

On a Christmas escape

Take Me to the North Pole

I want to hear the sound of jingle bells

Fly with you and Rudolph across the moon

We’ll land on all the rooftops as we tiptoe around the world

Sliding down the chimneys making dreams come true, Oh

Take me to the North Pole

I need to fly away

This world's gone crazy

Santa take me in your sleigh

On a Christmas escape

Take Me to the North Pole

We’ll fly over the isle of misfit toys

See the Grinch in Whoville on Christmas morn

Watch the Northern Lights in the land of icy white

Your castle’s lights will be shining bright

Oh come on Santa

I'm here and I'm ready!

Why you making me wait?

I've got some milk and cookies for ya

Come on now!

Take me to the North Pole

I need to fly away

This world's gone crazy

Santa take me in your sleigh

On a Christmas escape

Take Me to the North Pole

We’ll party with the elves and Mrs. Claus

I’ll make a cake with an Easy Bake, eat jellybeans and lollipops

I really need some magic from Frosty’s hat.

But most of all I need to know, how Mrs. Claus does it all!

Take me to the North Pole

I need to fly away

This world's gone crazy

Santa take me in your sleigh

On a Christmas escape

Take Me to the North Pole

Santa take me to the North Pole

Blue Christmas

I’ll have a blue Christmas without you

I’ll be so blue just thinking about you

Decorations of red on our green Christmas tree

Won’t be the same dear, if you’re not here with me

And when those blue snowflakes start fallin’

That’s when those blue memories start callin’

You’ll be doin’ all right, with your Christmas of white

But I’ll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas

You’ll be doin’ all right, with your Christmas of white

But I’ll have a blue, blue, blue, blue Christmas

Let It Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful

But the fire is so delightful

Since we’ve no place to go

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

It doesn’t show signs of stoppin’

And I’ve brought some corn for poppin’

The lights are turned down low

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

When we finally kiss goodnight

How I’ll hate goin’ out in the storm

But if you’ll really hold me tight

All the way home I’ll be warm

The fire is slowly dyin’

And, my dear, we’re still goodbyin’

As long as you love me so

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

When we finally kiss goodnight

How I’ll hate goin’ out in the storm

But if you’ll really hold me tight

All the way home I’ll be warm

The fire is slowly dyin’

And, my dear, we’re still goodbyin’

As long as you love me so

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

As long as you love me so

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Christmas Round My Tree

It’s a cold December, snows on the ground

Pull the tree from the garage

The old cardboard box with decorations

Is stuffed with lights and balls

Piled so neatly on top of` it all

Are the gifts my children made

Pull out each one, smile at the memories

Of the joy each one gave

Christmas is here, my favourite time of year

But hard times have hit us all

Don’t need to bring presents, just bring yourself,

Come spend time with me

‘Cause Christmas ‘round my tree

Christmas ‘round my tree is free

I’m widowed now, the kids are all gone

It’ll be my first Christmas alone

Sit here each night, watch TV

With the memories of us here at home

Think I’ll take the bag of wool that I found

Make some hats and mitts for the kids

Cause I’m all done moping around

It’s time to accept what is

Christmas is here, my favourite time of year

But hard times have hit us all

Don’t need to bring presents, just bring yourself,

Come spend time with me

‘Cause Christmas ‘round my tree

Christmas ‘round my tree is free

Let’s make snow angels, Sing carols

Stir up hot chocolote mix

Christmas ’round my tree

Christmas ’round my tree is free

You know Christmas round my tree is free

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

With the kids jingle belling

And everyone telling you be of good cheer

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

It’s the hap-happiest season of all

With those holiday greetings and gay happy meetings

When friends come to call

It’s the hap-happiest season of all

There’ll be parties for hosting

Marshmallows for toasting

And caroling out in the snow

There’ll be scary ghost stories

And tales of the glories of

Christmases long, long ago

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

There’ll be much mistletoeing

And hearts will be glowing

When loved ones are near

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

There’ll be parties for hosting

Marshmallows for toasting

And caroling out in the snow

There’ll be scary ghost stories

And tales of the glories of

Christmases long, long ago

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

There’ll be much mistletoeing

And hearts will be glowing

When love ones are near

It’s the most wonderful time

Yes the most wonderful time

Oh the most wonderful time

Of the year

Santa Claus Is Coming To Town

You’d better watch out, you’d better not cry

You’d better not pout, I’m telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

He’s making a list, he’s checking it twice

He’s gonna find out whose naughty or nice

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you’re sleeping

He knows if you’re awake

He knows if you’ve been bad or good

Better be good for goodness sake

Better be good for goodness sake

You’d better watch out, you’d better not cry

You’d better not pout, I’m telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

He sees you when you’re sleeping

He knows if you’re awake

He knows if you’ve been bad or good

(So you’d)

Better be good for goodness sake

Better be good for goodness sake

You’d better watch out, you’d better not cry

You’d better not pout, I’m telling you why

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

Santa Claus is coming to town

Silent Night - Sainte Nuit

Silent Night, Holy Night, All is calm, all is bright,

’round yon virgin, mother and child, Holy infant so tender and mild,

sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.

Douce nuit, sainte nuit ! Dans les cieux ! L’astre luit.

Le mystère annoncé s’accomplit, Cet enfant sur la paille endormi.
C’est l’amour infini! C’est l’amour infini!

Silent night, Holy night, Son of God, Love’s pure light,

radiant beams from Thy Holy face, with the dawn of re-deeming grace.

Jesus, Lord at Thy birth, Jesus, Lord at Thy birth.

Douce nuit, sainte nuit!

C’est l’amour infini!

Sleep in heavenly peace..

My Heart Is There With You

It’s just a line to let you know

I think of you and miss you so

And even though I’m far away

My heart is there with you

I hope you have a season blessed

With peace and love and happiness

That everyday will bring to you

Another dream come true

Let’s close our eyes and raise our glass

To the times we’ve shared in days gone past

To the memories that we’re thankful for

And to making many more

It’s just a line to let you know

I think of you and miss you so

And even though I’m far away

My heart is there

You’re in my prayers

And my heart is there with you

to be continued...

Snowflakes On My Eyelashes

Snowflakes on eyelashes

Softly falling through the heavens

Find your name, underneath my glove

Etched in stone, “Rest in peace, my love”

Kisses from you falling from heaven

As snowflakes on my eyelashes

Snow is falling through the heavens

Softly landing, silent white blessings

Close my eyes, turn my face to the sky

Feel your kiss, angels granting my wish

Kisses from you falling from heaven

As snowflakes on my eyelashes

Breathing deeply, smell of pine

Nature’s incense, so divine

Feel you here, fingers wrapped in prayer

Lost in time, feel your body with mine

Kisses from you falling from heaven

As snowflakes on my eyelashes

Arms waving in the snow

Angels appearing in moonlight’s glow

Laying here I know you are near

Wish you’d stayed, Miss you everyday

Kisses from you falling from heaven

As snowflakes on my eyelashes

Snowflakes on eyelashes

I feel the kisses, you’re sending from heaven

Stay

Light’s coming in through the window,

I love watching you sleep

My head finds its way to your pillow,

Warm breath, heart beat

A lifetime to find you. I never knew
 Love could hold such peace

Stay, I’m gonna stay,

Not walkin’ away, this time

Safe in the arms of a good man,

Someone who stands by my side

Stay

We always found something romantic,

‘Bout a storm rolling in,
You’ll find me through lightings’ flashes,

When the dark comes in again

Thunder may shake us, Winds kick up dust

Make our whole world spin

Stay, I’m gonna stay,

Not walkin’ away, this time

Safe in the arms of a good man,

Someone who stands by my side

Stay

For the first time, I don’t have a suitcase packed

For the first time, no white flag or backup plan.

For the first time, I know down deep inside

Stay, I’m gonna stay,

Not walkin’ away, this time

Safe in the arms of a good man,

Someone who stands by my side

Stay

To Be Continued

We met at high school when we were fourteen

The same group of friends through five years of classes

Survived all night parties outside at the farm

We’d lay on the grass and watch falling stars

Danced one last time, at our graduation

Swore we’d all stay in touch

Reading my yearbook, made my heart ache

When I read what you wrote,
at the bottom of the page

To be continued, Our story’s not through

Maybe today, is the day

To be continued

Called you one Christmas,

told you ’bout my divorce

We met for drinks at the old farm

Stayed up later than ever before

Friendship became much more

Sometimes in life, the timing’s not right

No matter how much you love

Seeing the hurt in each other’s eyes

With hands held tight, we said our good-byes

50 rolls around, reunion at our high school

You pull me close, whisper “God I missed you”

I start to blush, tingles down my spine

Could this finally be our time?

Red dress, stilletos, Fishnets on thighs

Hair curls on my shoulders

Red lipstick, smoky eyes

Hey honey honey, Hey honey honey

Give me some honey tonight

Hey honey honey, Hey honey honey

Suit pants, belt buckle

Button shirt, huggin’ you tight

Black tie, Adams apple

Shiny shoes, sparkly blue eyes

Hey honey honey, Hey honey honey

Give me some honey tonight

Hey honey honey, Hey honey honey

Give me some honey tonight

Only you make me this crazy

A bee buzzing round the hive

You’ve got that special something,

Mmm, Drives me wild

Hey honey honey, Hey honey honey

Give me some honey tonight

Hey honey honey, Hey honey honey

Give me some honey tonight

Shacked-Up Sweetie

We don’t need an age-old institution,

Certifying us as husband and wife

A gray-haired preacher, and a ceremony,

Is not required, to keep our love alive

Shacked-up sweeties, I’m your woman not the wife

You’re not my old man, You keep me rockin’ all night

We are shacked up sweeties, together for life

In this world of online dating and mating,

We could have found lovers any-where

When you asked me out, I called you crazy,

Good old friends, in a lifelong love affair

Shacked-up sweeties, I’m your woman not the wife

You’re not my old man, You keep me rockin’ all night

We are shacked up sweeties, together for life

Don’t go thinkin; that I’m gonna leave you,

‘cause I don’t wear a wedding ring

The love we have’s the best we’ve ever known,

And when I see you, my heart still does that thing

Shacked-up sweeties, I’m your woman not the wife

You’re not my old man, You keep me rockin’ all night

We are shacked up sweeties, together for life

You’re my shacked-up sweetie,

I’m gonna love you for life

Space

Should I turn left or right?

What of the dreams I have at night?

I’m on a course without a map

Too busy to know

where I’m at, I need

The space to be, the space to see

The space between my soul and me

On an odyssey, Of discovering

The space between what will and will not be

I’m twisting up and twisting down

Into the node and spin around

Find the centre of my soul

I’m a single point and also the whole, I am

The space to be, the space to see

The space between my soul and me

On an odyssey, Of discovering

The space between what will and will not be

The stories I’ve told myself

The ringing of St. Jakob’s bells

Wake me at night, take the sleep from my eyes

I’ll fly away like the eagle in the sky, into

The space to be, the space to see

The space between my soul and me

On an odyssey, Of discovering

The space between what will and will not be

Open Road

Hundred miles away from Austin,

Sign says San Antonio

Picture of his family on the dashboard,

It’s 22 hours home to Ontario

Hauling logs since ’86,

This route’s 5 days on the road

Shifting gears and radio stations,

He’s a husband and a father by phone

He’s on the open road,
Hauling a heavy load,

His dog is howlin’ to, songs on the radio

Hot coffee in his cup,
fuel tank is all filled up,

This truckin’ man loves the open road

Sun comes up on Saturday,

Kids wrapped ‘round his legs

His wife pours him coffee

as the dog runs ‘round the yard,

Cooks up Texas Brisket and eggs

Fill each other up with love each weekend,

Monday morning rolls around

Hug them tight, watch them wavin’ in the mirrors.

With the air horn blasting loud,

he puts the hammer down, Back to

He’s on the open road,
Hauling a heavy load,

His dog is howlin’ to, songs on the radio

Hot coffee in his cup,
fuel tank is all filled up,

This truckin’ man loves the open road

As fence posts flash by,

Wonders if he worked 9 to 5

Would he have had a better life?

Then the telephone rings,

And he’s on the line, He’s there anytime

He’s on the open road,
Hauling a heavy load,

His dog is howlin’ to, songs on the radio

Hot coffee in his cup,
fuel tank is all filled up,

This truckin’ man loves the open road

Mamas Take Bad Dreams Away

My little boy with bright blonde hair,
Sitting on the stair

His blanket trailing on the floor,
Holding his teddy bear

Said that he’d been woken up,
by bad men in his dreams

Sucked his thumb, his eyes real wide
 Looking at me, he believes

Mamas can always take bad dreams away

A touch and embrace, A kiss upon the face

How I wish

Mamas really could take bad dreams away

Years later, that full grown man,
 stood crying at my door

Garbage bags filled with clothes.
He didn’t mean to impose

Somehow he got taken, That girl crushed his heart

Gave himself away to her, Now he’s right back at the start

Mamas can always take bad dreams away

A touch and embrace, A kiss upon the face

How I wish

Mamas really could take bad dreams away

My love and prayers can’t always heal his wounds

I feel helpless and alone

My own mother’s voice echoes in my head

Tell him time heals all hurts,
start by taking one step ahead

Mamas can always take bad dreams away

A touch and embrace, A kiss upon the face

How I wish

Mamas really could take bad dreams away

Marilyn

A picture on the doctor’s wall,

Blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes

Marilyn you were my idol, Now I know why

Troubled inside

To the world, you showed only grace

All curves and conviction, Lipstick on a smiling face

I need to be like you today,

Sittin’ here wondering what the doctor will say

I look alright on the outside,

I may not be fine.

Tell me I’m not dying on the inside

Pictures of all kinds of women,

Surround you there on the walls

Some with flat chests, some with no hair,

Proud to show it all

Marilyn, I need your courage,

I guess that’s why you are there

They may take my flesh, I may lose my hair

Please help me prepare

I need to be like you today,

Sittin’ here wondering what the doctor will say

I look alright on the outside,

I may not be fine.

Tell me I’m not dying on the inside

You took your own life Marilyn,

I’m gonna fight for mine

Gonna fight for life, Gonna fight for time

I need more time

I need to be like you today

Sittin’ here wondering what the doctor will say

I look fine on the outside, I may not be fine.

Tell me I’m not dying inside

Tell me

I Wish

The soles of my feet are scarred

from walking on egg shells

You don’t see the battered hearts,

that have been through hell

Where lifetimes of not good enoughs

are worn like armour

We’d never see it coming

Like a freight train jumping off the tracks

I wish, I wish, I wish

We could go back, re-plant the garden

We would be beautiful flowers

I wish

Looking back at the rows in our family garden

Where flowers try to grow between empty bottles

Parents do what they can to make life better

They never saw it coming

Like a freight train jumping off the tracks

I wish, I wish, I wish

We could go back, re-plant the garden

We would be beautiful flowers

I wish

Took years to clear all the glass,

Shattered in my path

Sowed some seeds of my own

Love how those flowers have grown

There were things I didn’t see coming

I know their roots are strong enough

I couldn’t stop the damage from being done

I wish, I wish, I wish

We could go back, re-plant the garden

We would be beautiful flowers

I wish

I wish, I wish, I wish

Can't Break Through To You

The curtains are always open, in our shower stall

You’re in there trying to wash the war away

The water’s running cold, and your skin’s rubbed raw

I wish you could erase, all the things you saw

I can’t break through to you, no matter how I try

I can’t get to you, even when I cry

Tears are falling, on a heart of stone

I can’t break through to you, When you comin’ home

You must be in the trenches again tonight

You’ve pulled your pillow down under your arm

Sleeping with your rifle ready for a fight

You push me away when I try to hold you tight

I can’t break through to you, no matter how I try

I can’t get to you, even when I cry

Tears are falling, on a heart of stone

I can’t break through to you, When you comin’ home

I’ll be here, “in sickness and in health”

Don’t know how to help you,

but I’m here with you in Hell

So I hold your hand, and pray we find a way, ‘cause

I can’t break through to you, no matter how I try

I can’t get to you, even when I cry

Tears are falling, on a heart of stone

I can’t break through to you, When you comin’ home

How do I break through? I want you home.
