Let It Snow… A Song of Christmas and of Being Together
From the album: Take Me To The North Pole
Album Release: Nov. 12, 2019
This winter classic was actually written in California by Sammy Cahn and Julie Styne during a heat wave as they thought about cooler weather, and has since been picked up as a Christmas song because of it’s delightful imagery! We had such a fun time recording this one, and I love the upbeat and fun feel to the theme!
Let It Snow

We were very close to Our Neighbors (Who were 25 Years older than Us) but We moved 2 blocks down the street. When We were snowed in We walked to their house and kept them company and brought Food & played cards with Them while Our children shoveled their driveway and made A snowman for them. Great Memories!!
Awww. That made me smile! Wonderful. Thank you for sharing!
Probably when I was about 8 or 9 and school was cancelled. However as a kid I thought it was great and got bundled up and decided to go visit my friends up the road. It was so snowy and no cars were out as I trudged merrily up the hill thinking this is so fun!
Haha! You have always had that sense of adventure!
Coming back from Florida one year. Long time ago..big snow storm in Watertown…everything shut down..no ploughs running. Pulled in motel 6 . With 24dollars left in our pockets. Wow. Glad motels were cheap in those days .hihi. 🤑
Well, I am sure people could have used a hair cut in case! Glad you were able to find a motel though that wasn’t full! That was lucky too!

Let it Snow….. For a few years I lived on my grandfathers farm just south of Timmins Ontario. One winter we had tons of snow and they were unable to keep the roads cleared for school buses and traffic in general. I spent a lot of time building roads in the field with my toy truck and grader. I did not pass that year and had to repeat grade two because I missed so much of the year.
Oh wow…having to repeat a grade because of the snow…now that is serious business! Thanks for sharing. Did you make snow tunnels too? I loved making those!

Well, as a kid being snowed in was fun, that meant no school! I remember a time when we spent Christmas at Alice and Donald and my daughter Vanessa was a baby and the weather turned for the worst, well lots of slow and no plowing insight. We had to spend the night and i ran out of diapers. So, we improvised with women sanitary pads. We had a good laughter!
OMG!!! I HOWLED reading this! Thanks for sharing!

Hi,
Even living in Winnipeg, MB my entire life I do not remember a Christmas being snowed in.
In my earlier years we had blizzards where the snow was literally to the roof tops .In 1986 and in 1997 we had huge storms that also shut down the city with close to 40 cms of snow and howling winds.
We are a hearty bunch and I don’t think even a blizzard would keep us down during the holidays.
All the best
Yes, I think Winnipeg has the snow thing down!
Thanks for sharing and I hope this winter isn’t too hard on you! Francine
When i was a little girl there was so much snow that the bus could’nt come to pick me and my brother up at the house my dad had to get the horse ready on the slay and bring us to the main road …it was the good old times…
Ah Anne! What a wonderful memory! I will never forget your Dad taking us to church that one year in the sleigh! It was amazing. So loved spending time with all of you!

it was in 1970s in a little hic town it stormed and snowed for days. School were closed or roads into the town were completely snowed in. We only had 1 road in town
some people could not open the doors of their home they had to be dugged out. Lots of coffee and hot chocolate were appreciated by all the families in the neighborhood.
Thanks Linda! I remember those storms in the 70s. We HAD SNOW back then! Nothing like hot chocolate!
The day of my father’s funeral there was a big snow storm. (March in Cape Breton!) Everything was closed. The hearse couldn’t get to the church. We had to put his casket on the back of a half- ton truck to get to the graveyard. As we followed them in the procession, all the old stories of how he used to do this same thing for others with his own truck when he was young came flooding back to my memory. And I knew “The Why”.
The negative turned into a positive that day.
Oh WOW! What a story Bernadine. That gave me goosebumps! Thanks for sharing!
